I’m thinking about homophobic words like saying “Ah that’s so gay”. I mean for instance, I was chatting to my friend Rae on facebook about how I couldn’t get past a level on Candy Crush and she said “that’s so gay”. Neither of us are homophobic, and I know none of my gay friends will take offense to me saying it in front of them. I don’t mean it in a derogatory term, for me it’s just slang that I was brought up with. And I guess it’s interesting because I would never call someone a “dyke” or “faggot” but I would say that something which isn’t go right for me is “gay”.
Fancy a trip?
